ENG: Atalanta-Brescia 6-2

Pašalic (3), de Roon, Malinovskyi & Zapata scored

On the 2019-2020 Serie A TIM Matchday 33 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo Atalanta win 6-2 over Brescia. It's the 21st win, the record for wins of the club in Serie A set in the 2016/2017 season.

After the warm-up, in the presence of President Percassi and the Director-General Marino, the Serie A TIM MVP award for June was awarded to Papu Gomez. Before the kick-off, the memory of the victims of Covid-19 that brought together the cities of Bergamo and Brescia in pain was particularly touching, to the tune of "Rinascerò, Rinascerai" performed by Roby Facchinetti.

It was a strong start for the Nerazzurri who immediately took the lead after two minutes when Pašalić scored the opener on Malinovskyi cross to beat Andrenacci at the near post. But Brescia responded well and almost scored with Torregrossa (Sportiello rushed out to deny him), who then scored the equaliser on 8. It was all square until the 25th minute when de Roon, tonight's captain, found the back of the net on Gosens cross. Three minutes later, Malinovskyi pulled it further ahead for Atalanta with a left-footed stunner from long range into the bottom corner. On 30, Zapata headed Gosens cross from the left to score the fourth.

In the second half, Gasperini gave space to the young players: Colley first, the Bellanova, Czyborra and Piccoli (for the first two, it was their debut in the top-flight). The great protagonist of the second half was Pašalić who on 55 and 58 bagged his personal hat-trick, the first one coming from Malinovskyi and then with a left-footed finish on Colley assist. In the final stages of the match, Brescia pulled one back through Spalek who beat the substitute Rossi, on his seasonal debut, for the 6-2 final score.

The Nerazzurri bring their tally to 70 points and sit in second place waiting for the other games to be played.
