ENG: Atalanta-Inter 0-2
The Nerazzurri secure third place in the league
The Nerazzurri's 2019-2020 Serie A TIM campaign ends in third place, which sees Atalanta qualify for next year's UEFA Champions League, after the 2-0 defeat to Inter at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo on Matchday 38.
It was an uphill start against Inter, who took the lead after one minute through D'Ambrosio on a resulting corner: on the chance Gollini clashed with Gosens and got injured, giving space to Sportiello. On 20, the visitors doubled their lead with a great curler by Young from the edge of the box. In the final of the first half, Pašalić tried to score an acrobatic volley, which was eventually charged down by Young.
In the second half, Gomez and his teammates tried to increase the pressure, but the visiting defenders conceded little and replied to all Nerazzurri attempts. Zapata's and Malinovskyi's efforts weren't lucky enough, although the best chance came from Gosens on 83, when his finish skimmed the post. Gasperini also gave Da Riva his Serie A debut in the final minutes. That is how the league ended, a season that will remain in the history of the club.
